It started 21 years ago, in October, 1987, when West Coast was born: a footwear brand wiling to innovate by launching Outdoor fashion with boots and flip-flops. The country didn’t have anything similar. It was an immediate success. Brazil bowed before these flip-flops with nylon padded strips, a concept of comfort never seen before. West Coast boots became an icon for young people of that time.
Ten years later, the top management decided to change the company’s course. After a study on the behavioral changes of its consumers, it was perceived that the consumers of the 90’s had changed. They started to realize that fashion was not only jeans trousers, a T-shirt and any type of shoes. They wanted something different.
The brand was refreshed by young and modern elements, changing its focus from outdoor sports to assume an “urban” style. Shoes began to be developed in such a way as to meet the desires of these consumers, who were seeking for practical products, easily adaptable to any situation like going to work as well as going out at night.
Today, eight years later, the West Coast brand is consolidated among the largest and the best men’s footwear brands in Brazil.
